Why Do Painful Patterns Repeat?
Hey friends,
I hope these last few months have found you well. I haven’t written in months because I disappeared into work.
Over the past 90 days, I completely rebuilt my website, created a new reflection tool called Why Did I React That Way?, and worked with my publishing team to bring my new book, Built This Way: Why Painful Patterns Repeat and How to Change Them, across the finish line.
I’m back, and Built This Way publishes on October 22nd.
I’ve worked on this book for years, and I'm feeling proud, thrilled, and slightly terrified.
I have a lot I want to share with you about why we repeat patterns we know aren’t supporting us, why change can be so difficult, and what actually helps.
I also need your help. I’m building the Built This Way Launch Team—a first cohort of readers who want to help this book find the people who need it.
The goal is simple: build enough momentum before publication to give the book a strong start.
Launch Team members will get some good stuff along the way, including early book material, my new Why Did I React That Way? reflection tool, a Pattern Reflection Kit, a guided awareness practice, and an invitation to a private online Pattern Lab with me before publication.
In return, I’ll ask you to pre-order the book, try the reflection tool with one real experience, and help me share the message with a few people who might benefit.
The heart of that message is simple: There’s nothing wrong with us. There are reasons our patterns repeat. And patterns can change.
If that message resonates and you’d like to help me bring it into the world, I’d love to have you join my team.

I’m excited to reconnect, and I’d be honored by your support.
Wishing you abundant health, happiness, and prosperity,
Mark
